On a crisp winter afternoon in Adelaide, I found myself taking pictures at the Botanical Gardens — with no reason other than having a camera in hand, a clear sky above, and trees all around. After a few instinctive close-ups of trunks with unusual patterns, my vision shifted: they were no longer simply trees, but skins — alive with textures and colors, waiting to be seen anew..
