This photo gallery offers a visual homage to the wooden grain elevators of the Canadian Prairies—once vital landmarks scattered across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. These towering structures, often called the “cathedrals of the plains,” are rapidly vanishing from the landscape.

Through a curated selection of images, these selected images capture elevators in various states—preserved, repurposed, or abandoned—highlighting their architectural features, textures, and setting within the prairie horizon.

More than a nostalgic glance, these photographs aim at documenting the fading presence of a rural built heritage that once shaped both economy and identity across the region.

Each image is accompanied by basic location details and date of capture, offering viewers a quiet yet pointed reflection on what remains—and what is quietly disappearing.
