After years publishing in leading Italian travel magazines, Gulmanelli stepped away from the lens to pursue a PhD in Sociology.
That pause, deepening his inquiry into culture, identity, and perception, reshaped the way he eventually returned to photography.
Today, his work is no longer bound to description but to exploration.
Through framing and an emphasis on color, texture, shape, and line, he seeks new ways of looking at the familiar.
Some images, like those in the Metamorphoses series, resist immediate interpretation—inviting viewers to find their own meaning.

Canadiensis is a photographic and narrative project born out of a coast-to-coast traversal of Canada, exploring the country through people, places, and lived experience. This talk delves into that journey, unfolding impressions through images, conversations, and the emotional traces they evoke.
